When we founded LucyBalu, we had a clear vision: cat furniture shouldn't just be functional, it should blend harmoniously into a stylishly furnished home. Seeing this idea picked up by the Wall Street Journal makes us especially proud.

In its 30/31 May 2026 edition, the design section looks at the trend known as “Barkitecture”. It describes a new way of living in which pets are part of a home's design from the very start – with high-quality, well-thought-out solutions instead of purely functional pet furniture.

As an example of this shift, the Wall Street Journal features our SWING cat hammock. The editors describe LucyBalu as “a company in Munich, known for hammock-style beds” and point out that our SWING cat hammock was originally developed for a local animal shelter.

For us, this publication is much more than a nice mention. The Wall Street Journal is one of the world's most renowned business and lifestyle publications. Being featured there alongside international architecture and design projects confirms our aim of developing high-quality cat design that combines aesthetics and function in equal measure.

We're thrilled about this international attention and sincerely thank the editors of the Wall Street Journal. Features like this show that the way people see cat furniture is changing: away from purely functional products and towards well-designed objects that are a natural part of a modern home. That's exactly what LucyBalu stands for – and exactly what motivates us to keep developing innovative products for cats and their people.
