1. Fill – don’t overdo it.

3–5 cm of litter is enough. Your cat should dig, not excavate.
Switching to TOFU? Take it slow: mix it with the old litter first, then gradually increase. Cats hate sudden change. (We do too, sometimes.)

2. Scoop daily.

Scoop in, quick shake, clumps out – done.
Top up with a bit of TOFU to keep the depth even. Fresh every day. Everyone’s happier.

3. Disposal – smart, not messy.

Flush down the toilet? Yes, but carefully. Only small amounts. Let clumps soak first and flush with plenty of water.
Cat poop does not belong in the toilet – general waste is the way to go.
Organic waste bin? Maybe. Some cities allow plant-based litter, others don’t – mainly because of contamination risk. Check with your local authority. When in doubt: general waste. Easy.

4. Full refresh once a month.

After 4 weeks max: empty everything, clean thoroughly, refill with fresh TOFU.
Cats have sensitive noses. And let’s be honest – you like it fresh too.

Riecht auch nach Wochen im Kistchen noch angenehm, klumpt super, lässt sich mit Schaufel mit grösseren Löchern problemlos entfernen. Es gibt einfach nix zu meckern! Klare Kaufempfehlung

As a cat litter it’s not bad per se

As a cat litter it’s not bad per se. However there are a few negatives … the clumps of urine gets stuck to the bottom, and the pellets are not to our cats liking at all. We have the Steelo litter box and LucyBalu advised that more than one bag of this litter was used for Steelo. No problem. Yet also very vague because it takes nearly three bags of litter to fill Steelo with the advised amount of litter. And it’s just too expensive. There are cheaper tofu litters out there. And we ended up going back to our regular litter. As even when mixed with our cats old litter, she wouldn’t use the litter box.
