With #allpawsahome, we are launching an initiative to modernise Germany's animal shelters. LucyBalu, which emerged from a pro bono project for the Munich animal shelter, is thus involving animal welfare in the company's long-term success.
The exact number of animal shelters in Germany is not recorded, but more than 500 animal shelters alone are affiliated to the German Animal Welfare Association. We therefore assume that there are around 700 animal shelters in Germany. LucyBalu has set itself the goal of beautifying every second animal shelter in Germany by 2030 and thus making it more liveable for homeless cats. Attractively furnished cat rooms should also make it easier to place cats and thus help to give more cats a home. Whether in an animal shelter or at home, cats should be able to live in a species-appropriate environment.

We regularly receive requests from animal shelters interested in purchasing our products as they want to modernise their premises. Supporting animal shelters is not a business approach for us. We strive to help and not to exploit animal welfare organisations. That is why we will always offer them highly reduced preferential rates and support them where we can.
Let´s be real: we don´t like product returns which is why we try to always advise our customers as best as possible when they need help deciding on products. Nonetheless we get returns every now and then that already have slight signs of usage. Unlike other companies we never just trash those. Instead, we collect those to donate them to animal shelters and therefore minimize any waste.
We regularly receive enquiries from animal shelters who come across our cat furniture during a planned modernisation. For us, supplying animal shelters is not a business model. We do not want to profit from non-profit animal welfare organisations. We therefore offer our products to these organisations at greatly reduced special conditions and support them wherever we can.
