It's simple: click → immediately give a treat. Repeat this a few times until your cat understands: click = reward. Only then do you start with small exercises.
More than you'd think: sit, high five, come when called, or even small tricks. Carrier training or calm behavior can also be practiced really well.
Short and regular beats long and rare. 2–5 minutes per session is completely enough. It's important to stop while it's still fun.
Timing. The click has to come at exactly the right moment – and the treat right after. Too late = the wrong signal. And very important: no scolding. Clicker training only works with positive reinforcement.
