AirTag cat collar with safety buckle

AirTag cat collar with safety buckle

Our collars NEMO in soft silicone and DORI in light nylon have a snug holder for an Apple AirTag. In the Find My app you can see where the collar was last located. The AirTag is sold separately, for example directly from Apple. For cats without a tracker there's WILLY with a screw-top ID capsule for your name and phone number. All three open under tension if your cat gets caught.

The AirTag sends a Bluetooth signal that nearby Apple devices relay anonymously. In residential areas this usually works well; in open fields with nobody around, hardly at all. So it doesn't replace live GPS tracking, but it often helps you find your cat again.

Measure your cat's neck and chest. XS/S fits a 22–35 cm neck and 32–55 cm chest, M/L a 26–38 cm neck and 36–62 cm chest. If you're between sizes, choose the smaller one for slim cats. All measurements are on the EXPLORER page.

For outdoor cats, a collar with a safety buckle is the better choice because it releases if the cat gets caught. For walks on a lead, use a harness, as it spreads the pull across chest and shoulders. Never walk a cat on a lead attached only to a collar.

Put it on for short periods at first, ideally before feeding or playing, and extend the time step by step. Some scratching at the start is normal. You should still be able to slide two fingers under the collar.

Collars with a safety buckle only make sense once your cat is grown enough for the collar to fit well and not slip over the head. If in doubt, ask your vet when it's right for your kitten.
