We visited the influencer, blogger and cat mom at home. In the interview, she tells us — and you — how she lives, what inspires her and what life is like with five Maine Coons.
She proves it daily on her Insta channel (@vena_an): cats and great interior design can go together - and yes, you can even have a beautiful sofa, depending on the fabric you choose.
We ask, Vena tells. The basics first:
Tell us a bit about yourself.
Vena: I'm Vena and still a young 31. Together with my husband and our currently 5 cats we live in my grandparents' house in the beautiful Bavarian Forest. I'm a village kid through and through and can't imagine ever living in a city. Living together with our house tigers rounds everything off perfectly.
How long have you lived in your home?
Vena: We've lived in my grandparents' house since April 2021, which is gradually being renovated. I never thought this would happen, but we're so grateful for this opportunity.
An interior blogger in an interview? Of course we want to know more about her home!
How would you describe your interior style?
Vena: That's really tricky. I've never actually thought about it. I just like combining old pieces with history with new details. It's all about the mix.
Where do you find inspiration?
Vena: I love browsing Insta and Pinterest. But I also really enjoy magazines.
Do you have a favorite piece, and if so, why?
Vena: I have quite a few of those at home. First and foremost our green monster. That's what I lovingly call our tiled stove in the dining room. It's tied to such wonderful childhood memories for me. But also our old farmhouse cabinet, which I painstakingly restored.
Your absolute favorite room.
Vena: One of my favorite rooms is definitely the bedroom.Mostly because I simply love sleeping. But also our living room, because from the sofa we have a lovely view of our green monster.

Interior design and (as many as) 5 house tigers - how does that work?
How do cats and interior design get along, was there ever a moment when you thought oh no, please don't scratch that?
Vena: Oh yes, they already have a sofa on their conscience. But I'm partly to blame myself. I chose a fabric that turned out to be irresistible to our Sam.
Fynn also loves to leave his mark on our farmhouse cabinet when he jumps up from the floor and pulls himself up with his claws. But those are just special effects .
Was there ever a little incident?
Vena: There haven't been any particular incidents so far. At least none that I remember, or maybe I'm just suppressing it.
How does life with your velvet paws enrich you?
Vena: Simply by their presence alone.
What's really lovely is that they always say goodbye when I leave for work and greet me when I come home. Although it might also be that they're just grumbling because I didn't bring anything to eat. Oh, and you're never, truly never, alone.

Before our conversation comes to an end, as a cat brand we of course want to know more about the fluffy roommates:
Tell us a bit about them, what makes each of them special?
Vena: Each of them has such a special and wonderful character. With all its rough edges.
Lucy - 10 years - Maine Coon
She's a little diva and the true lady of the house. When she wants something, she likes to make it known loudly and always has to have the last word. She's rather shy when strangers come, though. Otherwise incredibly affectionate.
-
Francis - 10 years - Maine Coon
Our little worrier ever since we got him. He has a thoroughly cuddly nature and starts purring the moment you look at him. He's incredibly gentle and loving.
-
Sam - 8 years - Maine Coon
Our cuddle-fighter, when he's in the mood. These days more the quiet and unassuming type.
-
Fynn - 5 years - Maine Coon
Our daredevil. He's also got, we'd guess, 5 personalities. Affectionately he's also called little rascal, and he's my personal shadow. He's incredibly clever, spirited
-
Ted - 2 years - Maine Coon
Our little water and foot fetishist. He talks pretty much every second (even in his sleep). We lovingly call him Chatterbox and Very Hungry Caterpillar. He's our clumsy one, but rather easygoing.
Now we know that interior design and cat-mom life go together perfectly (we already knew that before, but now you know it too ).
Vena's Coonies love their felt cave, which isn't just cozy but also beautifies any interior. You can find it on our website, along with plenty of other products that don't just make life nicer for your house tiger.
