LucyBalu Catmodel Contest: The finalists are set

For the fourth year in a row, our Munich startup LucyBalu hosted the "Cat Model Contest".
After the great success of recent years, we had high hopes that many people would once again fancy entering their indoor cats for the Cat Model 2024 title – and our expectations were even exceeded! We received over 4,000 applications. Challenges and community voting decided who made it into the final.

Let us introduce you to the 17 indoor cats who made it into the final:

Milo - @the.gentle.bengal.bros

Hello furriends! My name is Milo, I'm almost 3 years old and a "charcoal"-spotted Bengal. I literally burn for adventure and fun 😹😼 When I'm not out and about with my pawrents making the forest unsafe or playing boss at home, I love to cuddle with my little brother and the two-legged ones, because they say I have a very sweet soul 😽♥️ 

Suri did not have an easy start in life, but has mastered every challenge and is an absolute fighter. She is cuddly, very people-oriented and purrs so often that we lovingly call her "Schnurri". Her enchanting eyes never cease to amaze us. 

Klausi is a very spoilt boy whom we love very much! He loves spending time outdoors and is very curious! The funny thing is that he always has a counter-reaction ready when something doesn't suit him! 🥰

Luna is a living, fluffy cotton pad who loves tuna above all else. She is incredibly affectionate and loves cuddles more than anything. She has no concept of privacy and is never shy – she is very brave.

Smoky loves going for walks with us and being the centre of attention at home. He loves trying out new things and is a real action tomcat

Dynamic, wild and yet extremely cuddly! That is our rocket Lexus. He comes, together with his brother, from the Mainz animal shelter.

Relaxed, always hungry and yet dynamic. That is our orange cloud Fanta. He comes, together with his brother, from the Mainz animal shelter.

Lola - @lola_on_the_peak

Lola is a 2-year-old adventure cat who doesn't miss a single bike or hiking tour (there is no wrong weather, only the wrong gear or a lazy pawps). In the current round we had to step a bit out of the comfort zone, because we're not used to photos with just sitting around. But now we've realised that this, too, is enormous fun for us and so we hope we can convince you and get the chance of a cool shoot with pros and friends! 

 

The 8 home-shoot candidates struck a pose at home:

Charly is an absolute soul-cat. Nothing calms me down like his purring or his cuddle sessions. Charly loves to hand out head bumps to his favourite people or dream of treats🤭

Fluffy is our sweet little chaos-maker. Her nickname is Ms Clumsy because she is simply a sweet klutz. She can catch treats while lying down (by pushing off from the wall), is always close to us and purrs like a little tractor while cuddling.

Gnocchi is a 2-year-old British Shorthair tomcat whom we rescued from poor conditions. He is cuddly, incredibly sweet and loves salmon, concerts and catching our feet. He has tiny little front teeth, which is why his tongue often pokes out.

Hello, I'm Akira, a 1.5-year-old, big, fluffy and sensitive tomcat. When I want to be stroked, I meow like a little dinosaur, only quietly. I'm happiest when everyone is at home and my sister Ari isn't annoying me.

Nothing can stop BamBam Balu: not her missing joints in her legs, not the next kerb — full of energy and joie de vivre, she zooms through life on her BamBam Mobile, romps with her cat friends through the Kitten Safe House and shows that HandiCats are real HandiCANs!

My name is Zulli, I was found on the street with cat flu and pretty matted fur, which is why I had to be completely shaved. This year I finally got a loving home with four playmates and lots of attention, which I couldn't be happier about. Because I'm deaf, I always make my mummy laugh with my far-too-loud meowing and am always happy when she now shows me a safe world outside on the lead.

With their unique personalities we would happily crown every single cat the winner! In the end, however, the community and the team from "Geliebte Katze" of course have to decide on one indoor cat. The winner will be announced as soon as next week; until then it remains exciting.
